Disclaimer

No robot doctor energy.

We think movement should be fun, and we take honesty about what this app is just as seriously. Here is the boundary, in plain language.

Hips Don't Die provides movement-tracking software. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent a medical condition.

What this app is

Hips Don’t Die is a movement-tracking tool. It uses pose-estimation models to follow your body through repetitions and holds, count them, and time them. It is a fun, informative way to move along with guided routines.

What this app is not

  • It is not a medical device and has not been cleared or approved as one.
  • It does not diagnose pain, injury, or any condition.
  • It does not prescribe treatment or tell you a movement is medically appropriate.
  • It does not judge whether your form is “right” — it tracks movement relative to your own calibrated range.
  • It is not a substitute for a physician, physical therapist, or other qualified professional.

Consult a professional before you start

Talk to your physician or another qualified healthcare professional before beginning this or any exercise program — especially if you have a hip, back, or other medical condition, are recovering from surgery or injury, are pregnant, have heart, balance, or blood-pressure concerns, or have any doubt about whether exercise is right for you. Do not begin, and do not continue, if a professional has advised you against it.

Assumption of risk

Physical activity carries inherent risks, including muscle soreness, strains, falls, and in rare cases more serious injury. By choosing to use this app and perform any movement, you do so voluntarily and at your own risk, and you accept full responsibility for your participation. Move within a range that feels comfortable, keep sturdy support nearby, and stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, numbness, tingling, or distress.

In an emergency

This app cannot help in an emergency and does not summon help. If you think you are having a medical emergency, stop and contact your local emergency services right away.

About the research

The Research pagelists studies that inform our routine design. Those studies describe general findings about exercise and yoga in research populations — they are not evidence that this specific app has been tested, is effective, or is appropriate for you, and we say so plainly on each card.

Your acknowledgement

By accessing or using Hips Don’t Die, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this disclaimer, that the app is not medical care, that you assume the risks of physical activity, and that you agree to our Terms of Use (which include a limitation of liability) and Privacy notice. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
